OUR TEAM

REM-IHU is a multidisciplinary student team. Electrical, Mechanical and Operations subteams work side-by-side to design, build and race our electric motorcycle at MotoStudent.

Department

Electrical — High / Low Voltage & Software

The Electrical subteam is responsible for all high-voltage and low-voltage systems on the bike, as well as the software and data acquisition that bring the prototype to life on track.

High–Low Voltage Systems
  • Design and construction of the battery system for the electric racing motorcycle.
  • High-voltage and low-voltage architecture, safety concept and wiring.
  • Electronic connections and integration of all onboard electronic systems.
Software & Data
  • Research and developement of custom firmware for custom pcb chain.
  • Data collection and communication programming using protocols such as: UART, CAN BUS, I2C etc.
  • Data analysis, resulting in optimal performance and reliability.

Department

Mechanical — Vehicle Dynamics & Structure

The Mechanical subteam is responsible for the overall vehicle concept: aerodynamics, chassis, suspension, braking and structural integrity. Their work ensures that every watt of power translates into lap-time performance.

Aerodynamic Design & Analysis
  • Design and optimization of the aerodynamic package (fairings, wings, ducts).
  • CFD simulations (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to reduce drag and improve stability.
Brake · Suspension · Steering · Powertrain
  • Selection and tuning of racing geometry, steering system and chain drive.
  • Thermal analysis and optimization of braking systems.
  • Inverter programming for power delivery based on logged data.
  • Dynamic studies (lap-time simulation / vehicle dynamics) for race-track performance.
  • Design, integration and optimization of the powertrain system.
Composite Materials
  • Study and use of advanced composite materials.
  • Manufacturing of the aerodynamic package and key lightweight components.
Structural Design & Analysis
  • Chassis design: frame, subframe, swingarm and mounting points.
  • Strength and stiffness studies with FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
  • Assembly and integration of all mechanical subsystems.

Department

Operations — Media & Marketing

The Operations & Media subteam connects the project with the outside world: sponsors, events, public image and internal organization. They ensure that the team has the resources and visibility it needs to compete.

Media · Marketing
  • Communication with companies and partners.
  • Organization of events, test days and public presentations.
  • Management of social media channels and website content.
  • Photography, photo & video editing and graphic design.
Operations & Business
  • Business Plan subteam: budget planning and sponsorship packages.
  • Logistics for race events, transport and team coordination.
  • Brand identity and storytelling of REM-IHU.
